My personal beauty tips and tricks :)

Hey guys! So, there's millions of tried and tested beauty tips flying about on the web so I thought I'd share a few of mine. These are simple, cheap ideas that I use all the time and swear by :)

  • Invest in a good body moisturiser. It will make a huge difference to how you look, you'll have silky soft skin, hair regrowth will be slower, your fake tan will last longer, it will give your skin a lovely glow and all you have to do is spend 5 minutes a day slapping it on!. My personal favourite is Johnson's baby lotion, which you can pick up cheaply from your local Quality Save, chemist or supermarket. It smells gorgeous and leaves your skin smooth with a lovely glow.
  • Put Vaseline (petroleum jelly) on your eyelashes at night. It helps them grow, keeps them nice and thick and conditions them. Trust me, it works!
  • Leave your hair conditioner in overnight once a week, particularly if you have dyed hair. I have super dry hair and it helps it stay nice and shiny.
  • Contour your face with a good bronzer, but make sure it's matte! Shimmer in the product will only highlight imperfections. Sweep along your cheekbones (such your cheeks in if you can't find them-like me!) and your jawline (blend well!!) for an instantly thinner looking, professional looking face.
  • If you've dyed your hair and it's gone way too dark, but you can't afford to do anything about it (I've been there so many times!) mix a drop of washing up liquid into your shampoo everytime you wash your hair. It'll help fade the colour over time.
  • Put a dot of white eyeshadow in the corner of your eyes to make them pop; this is a favourite beauty secret of the A-Listers!
  • For an even, streak free tan, use a gradual tanning lotion, such as Nivea Gradual Tan and mix it with a dollop of moisturiser.
  • Put a dot of vaseline to wherever you're applying your perfume (wrists, neck) it helps it last longer!.
  • For a free and effective exfoliator, mix sugar and olive oil in equal consistencies, it feels gorgeous and leaves skin glowing and smooth.
  • Don't wait to long to shave your legs while you're sat in the bath- the heat makes the skin contract and makes getting a closer shave difficult.
So! there you have it guys :) Enjoy, and let me know if they work for you!

Rimmel The Max Bold Curves Mascara Review

Hey guys! So, this is a review for Rimmel's The Max Bold Curves Mascara.
I bought this product from Boots, and it cost £6.48 (bargain!)
Anyone who knows me will know that I'm a sucker for a cheap piece of make up, and though I'm not a huge Rimmel fan (some of their products have disappointed me in the past) I was lured in by the bright packaging and promise of "extending your lashes by upto 70%!" slogan.
So, this is what it looks like; (excuse my flowery bedding!)

Pretty sweet packaging huh? Anyway! Overall, I really liked this mascara (shock horror!!). It did what it was supposed to do; my lashes were definitely curved nicely, they looked longer and darker, and to my surprise, volumized. It was easy to apply, didn't clump, and stayed put until I took it off. The only real downside was that after an hour or so my lashes did seem to droop- I reapplied the mascara and it did the job again, without clumping. I'd definitely buy it again because of the price and how good of a job it did, it's perfect for people with short, straight lashes. I'd give this product an 8 out of 10 :)

These are my eyelashes after application of the mascara;

Barry M Lip Paints!

So, after years of saying I would, I've finally bought some Barry M Lip paints! I got them from the Barry M website, and they were £4.95 each, a pretty good bargain for lippies nowadays!.

I bought them in 4 colours- Sunset, Coral, Peach and Chestnut Red. Here are the swatches:

L-R: Chestnut Red, Sunset, Coral, Peach.

An overall review:
I am in LOVE with these lipsticks! I've always been a sucker for dramatic make up and these Barry M lipsticks are perfect for that look. The first thing I noticed was the high pigmentation; they don't go on sheer with a hint of colour, they are bold and eye catching. They glide on effortlessly, with or without a lip brush, and the colour is very buildable. You can create different shades and levels of intensity with each lipstick, depending on how much  of the product you use; you can use a tiny bit for a slight tint or slick it on for a dramatic, daring look. Barry M lip paints are just stunning! The peach one was a gorgeous tropical shade, the Sunset was a real girly girl's dream, the coral was sophiscated with a touch of shimmer, and the chestnut red was goth chic and rich.
The only downside to this product is that the lippie is very highly pigmented, therefore quite drying to the lips. As long as you apply to moisturised lips you'll be fine, I was! They have great staying power too, without the need for a liner. I will definitely be buying these again in different shades to add to my inevitable collection!.

This is me, wearing my absolute favourite-Chestnut Red!

N07 Stay Perfect Foundation Review

Hey guys! This is my first review.
I recently bought this product from Boots Pharmacy, as it was on clearance sale for £3.65, and I bought it in the colour Tan, the closest to my skin tone.
I think the usual price would be £15.50. The price is the first reason I purchased it, I would never spend 15 quid on a foundation, and because I've heard lots of good things about the N07 brand I thought it was a bargain.
Overall, I'd give this foundation out of 10:
Colour - 5
Texture - 7
Coverage - Light/Medium
Staying Power - 7

Direct application onto hand-no blending

Application
I applied the foundation on a clean face, around 10 minutes after using a light oil free moisturiser. It went on great; easy to blend and it felt air light on my skin, none of that heavy, cakey feel. I was a little surprised by the coverage, I was expecting it to be heavier but it was almost sheer, though giving a beautiful finish. It IS buildable however. This is definitely a product to buy if you don't need to hide blemishes/spots. After 5 minutes of having the foundation on my face, I looked back in the mirror and to my dismay, the colour had darkened considerably. It had obviously reacted with the air and oxidized, which is a real shame. Now, despite blending, the colour was  much too dark for my skin. Nonetheless, I put a translucent powder over it and carried on about my day.
Test-5 hours into wearing product.
The foundation was definitely still there, but I had a few minor shiny areas around my nose.
After 8 hours of wearing the foundation, it had stayed very well despite the colour change, which thankfully hadn't got any darker.

Overall, I wouldn't buy this product again because of the oxidization which occurs. I also need slightly heavier coverage.

Pros:
SPF 15.
Good staying power.
Easy to apply.
Nice, natural finish (if it doesn't go orange on you!)

Cons:
Colouring change.
Too sheer of a coverage for me.
